City Bank launches Citygem Sapphire - a new priority banking proposition under the Citygem umbrella.
The new proposition was launched through a grand event in Radisson Blu Dhaka on Thursday, 13 April 2017. The thematic event offered a sublime and iconic journey through the Sapphire experience.

Sapphire is designed to meet the unique banking needs of the Ultra High Net Worth clients and offers its members exclusive travel, health and lifestyle privileges. With Sapphire, our clients will be able to experience the finest priority banking services.

Mr. Mohammed Shoeb, Chairman of City Bank officially welcomed the guests with his opening speech. Mr. Sohail R. K. Hussain, MD & CEO, and Mr. Mashrur Arefin, AMD & CCO of City Bank also spoke at the event. Ms. Fahria Huque, Head of Citygem Priority Banking then concluded the speech session with her vote of thanks.

With the speeches completed, the guests were then introduced to the world of Sapphire with logo reveal and a video presentation.

To celebrate the launch, sons of sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and renowned Indian Classical and Fusion musicians – Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan mesmerized the guests with their musical performance.

City Bank wins Euromoney 'Best Bank in Bangladesh' award for the second straight year
City Bank has recently been named the 'Best Bank in Bangladesh' for the year 2015 at Euromoney's Awards for Excellence for the second time. Euromoney's prestigious Asia Awards are seen as the benchmark for the leading firms in financial services in the region, and are fiercely contested across numerous markets and categories.

The award was announced at an Award Ceremony in Hong Kong recently, which was attended by leading figures from banking and capital markets across Asia. City Bank's DMD & COO Mashrur Arefin along with Head of Brand Nazmul Karim received the award on behalf of the Bank.

In presenting the 'Best Bank in Bangladesh' award to City Bank, Euromoney in its citation said, "City Bank wins the award for the second straight year and again is the standout performer in its field. Profits after tax, return on assets, return on equity were all outstanding performances whilst the bank's market capitalization jumped 30% in the 12 months to December 2014 thanks to its healthy mix of clients and services - including a 27% share of the charge card issuing market".

City Bank wins 'Best Consumer Internet Bank in Bangladesh' award from Global Finance

City Bank has been named the 'Best Consumer Internet Bank in Bangladesh' by Global Finance, a North America based leading global financial publications.

City Bank Chairman Rubel Aziz, accompanied by the bank's DMD & COO Mashrur Arefin, received the award at a ceremony held on October 28 in New York which was attended by many leading banks from across the globe.

City Bank has received this accolade for the success of its state-of-the-art Internet Banking platform, Citytouch. The service brings together all the conveniences of branch banking to the screen of internet-enabled devices.

Upon receiving the award, City Bank's Chairman Rubel Aziz said, "we are inspired and will bring even more significant Internet banking developments in Citytouch in near future."

City Bank wins 'Best Commercial Bank in Bangladesh' award from FinanceAsia for the 2nd time

City Bank has recently been named the 'Best Commercial Bank in Bangladesh' by FinanceAsia, a leading financial publication in the Asia-Pacific region. This is for the second time City Bank has won this prestigious award after becoming the inaugural winner in this category in 2012.

The award was announced at an Award Ceremony in Singapore recently which was attended by more than 300 leading bankers from across the Asia Pacific region. City Bank's Director and immediate past Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser and Deputy Managing Director & COO Mashrur Arefin received the award on behalf of the Bank.

In presenting the Best Commercial Bank in Bangladesh award to City Bank, FinanceAsia in its citation said, "Political unrest and subdued economic activity made life difficult for banks in Bangladesh during 2013. City Bank responded with sound management and succeeded in improving asset quality and liquidity, while cutting its cost of funds and maintaining adequate capital."

Upon receiving the award Aziz Al Kaiser said, "We are quite excited to receive this award for the second time. This recognition shows our strong commitment to the valued customers. "

Besides winning the same award in 2012, City Bank also received the 'Best Bank in Bangladesh' award in 2014 from Euromoney; 'Best Online Initiative of the Year- Bangladesh' in 2014 from Asian Banking & Finance; and 'Strongest Bank in Bangladesh' award in 2010 from Asian Banker.

City Bank wins 'Best Bank in Bangladesh' award from Euromoney
City Bank has recently been named the 'Best Bank in Bangladesh' at Euromoney's Awards for Excellence 2014. Euromoney is world's leading financial publication read by high-ranking financial decision makers in more than 100 countries.

The award was announced at an Award Ceremony in Hong Kong recently which was attended by 500 leading bankers from across the globe. City Bank's MD & CEO Sohail R K Hussain received the award on behalf of the Bank. This is the first year of Euromoney's extending the award to Bangladesh and City Bank has become the winner of the inaugural award.

In presenting the Best Bank in Bangladesh award to City Bank, Euromoney in its citation said, "during a period of political and economic instability, City Bank of Bangladesh thrived. Across a range of businesses, City Bank embraced change in a way its rivals struggled to match."

Upon receiving the award, City Bank's MD & CEO Sohail R K Hussain said, "This will further reinforce our determination to continue to execute on our strategy in order to create value for our clients and shareholders."

City Bank launches Citygem, Priority Banking
City Bank Chairman Rubel Aziz launches the bank's Priority Banking "Citygem" at a ceremony on Saturday. Director & Ex Chairman, City Bank, Bank's MD & CEO Mr. K Mahmood Sattar were also present.

The City Bank Limited launched its Priority Banking named "Citygem" for its high net-worth clientele at a ceremony held in the banquet hall of the bank. Bank's Chairman Rubel Aziz inaugurated the service. Also present were Director & Ex Chairman, City Bank, Bank's MD & CEO Mr. K Mahmood Sattar, AMDs – Sohail Hussain, Faruq Mainuddin, DMD & CCO Mashrur Arefin and other senior officials.

City Bank started the "Citygem" journey from three lounges located in Dhaka & Chittagong. These are state-of-the-art lounges offering extraordinary facilities like virtual office for customers, own business meetings, complimentary luncheon privileges, reserved parking with valet service, exclusive locker with powder room etc. The other privileges of Citygem include wealth management service like capital market investment advisory, access to private trading room at the Citygem center with on-site trader, special desk for property & real estate related information.
